Find Your Beach

There are so many beautiful beaches all over this planet of ours but the one that matters the most is the one you are currently on.  We have been collecting a few shells and rocks from every beach that we have been lucky enough to set foot on.  We can bring out these momentous and over a beer or a glass of wine can remember back and talk for hours about the good times that were had at that little beach.  We can actually go back and remember what the day was like, the things we saw and what the sand felt like as we walked along, usually holding hands, dreaming of days gone by and the new days that were to follow.  Dream of your beach and then go out and find it.

A Different Point of View

As we stand on the beach looking out at the scenery we think of last year when we sailed down the coast and realize that we were part of the scenery.  I guess it depends on your point of view as to whether you are looking at the scenery or actually in the scenery looking out.  Some people are content just looking at the ocean, a mountain or at the sky while others need to jump in and sail that ocean, climb that mountain or float in that sky. Standing back and enjoying the scenery is just fine but if you want to feel the euphoria of life, find your adventurous spirit and jump right in

Memories of Times Gone By

Point Roberts, WA. where we spent over five years, was calling us to stop by for a visit.  We stayed a week and visited with good friends Dean & Lynn from S/V  "Solastra" and also caught up with Chris & Daina from S/V  "Mist Maiden"  around an evening campfire.  This picture is of Lynn & I putting together one of our breakfasts, omelette in a bag.  It had been a year since we last saw Dean & Lynn, it was the day we cut the dock lines and headed south for Mexico. They had provided the champagne send off.  We are looking forward to seeing them next year in Mexico when they cut their dock lines in 2014.

The Times, They are a Changin'

Too many times do people rush to their destination and forget about the journey.  While slowly sailing down the coast we realized that the journey was our destination.  History is about other peoples journeys and if we rush to just our destination we miss out on the history.  Recently we find ourselves thinking back on what it must have been like back then, the good times and the bad that people went through as we now travel through our good and bad times.  Yes the time are still a Changin'.

Canoe River Campgrounds near Valemount was such a relaxing place to stop. We spent a few nights here during a full moon.  Not too many people were travelling this time of year so we had the place almost to ourselves and had the most ideal spot right on the river bank.

On the Road Again

It didn't take us long after the shakedown cruise to hit the road again, we got all packed up and headed west toward Vancouver.  Usually we travel straight through so that we can get to the boat and start our short summer of sailing, well not this time.  It was time to slow down and as the saying goes "stop and smell the roses".  Valemount was our destination for the evening.  We had three stops along the way, the first picture was taken while going past Jasper and the second was while entering Mount Robson Park, the third stop was actually in the park.  A very slow and relaxing first day.

If you have been following our blog you may recognize these people as our good friends from the sailing vessel  "Scot Free Eh",  it just so happened that they were on their way to Calgary, Alberta and were traveling through Fort Mcleaod.  Well it didn't take us long to get back to our daily routine that we so enjoyed while cruising.  Dinner was planned (BBQ'd Chicken) and much wine was consumed.  John, Deb & Pep-Eh stayed the night on Euphoria II and after breakfast headed for Calgary.

We finally got to join the family camping trip.  Usually we are off sailing and have had to miss out on the fun filled summers that the rest of the family enjoys every year, but not this time. These are a few of the family camping units as we enjoyed a week in Fort Mcleod, Alberta.  A great shakedown cruise for Euphoria II.

The land yacht has been launched.  It has been awhile since we left San Carlos and returned home. Well it didn't take long for the traveling bug to get back into our systems, must be that gypsy soul that tells us that we must travel and explore.  We decided to purchase a Motor Coach and naturally it became our Euphoria II.
